n2x to Ôstamp oneÕs feetÕ and once to stamp something with the
feet;
n4x for spreading metal, but not always in the sense of beating or
hammering;
n3x for spreading out the earth, which is nowhere said to be spread by
beating;
n1x for spreading the sky or the clouds.
nIt thus need not mean more than Ôspread out,Õ whatever the means for
accomplishing this.
